The Opera Guild of San Antonio was founded in 1974 as a non-profit (501c3) educational and charitable association. The Guild focuses on opera projects in the local community, including education for children through its Opera in the Schools program. The Guild’s mission is carried out by members and volunteers.

The Guild is a fiscally responsible organization that has received funding from the City of San Antonio Department of Cultural Affairs, the San Antonio Area Foundation, the Russell Hill Rogers Foundation for the Arts, the Pryor Trust, The Gage Foundation, The Tobin Foundation and other major sponsors.

Benefits of Membership:
- Adult Opera Study Course available without charge
- Invitations to all Guild events, including Opera Enhancement, Holiday Soiree, Matinee at the Opera, Bus trip to Austin Lyric Opera and the fall and spring member meetings. The Holiday Soiree as well as the Spring and Fall Membership Meetings are free of charge to members.

- Major donors and new members are invited to a reception in August.

- Access to members-only area of website
- Inclusion in the Guild’s annual directory of members
